Королевский монетный двор Великобритании представил памятную монету «Первая годовщина со дня рождения принца Джорджа Кембриджского».

На аверсе отчеканен портрет королевы Великобритании Елизаветы II работы Яна Бродли (Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS). По краю монеты расположены надписи: «ELIZABETH • II», «D • G • REG • F • D», «FIVE POUNDS».

Реверс несет композицию, в центре которой изображена корона святого Эдуарда. Вокруг короны в виде креста помещены геральдические щиты Англии, Шотландии, Северной Ирландии и Уэльса. Мегду гербами выгравированы национальные символы перечисленных стран, частей Соединенного Королевства: роза (Англии), чертополох (Шотландии), трилистник (Северной Ирландии) и лука-порей (Уэльса). Дизайнер реверса - Edgar Fuller.

The cruciform, or cross-like, version of the Royal Arms was created for Her Majesty The Queen in her Coronation year. It is a traditional design, but with a modern twist. The first coins of The Queen’s reign saw Wales represented for the first time, here with the familiar shields of the Arms divided by floral emblems including the Welsh leek.

It was such a British coin, to be used for important events in The Queen’s reign. But it has been struck only once since, in 1960, awaiting a special occasion ever since. The first birthday of her great-grandson is just such an occasion – a tribute fit for a prince. Национальный банк Кыргызской Республики с 1 сентября 2014 года ввел в налично-денежное обращение циркуляционные монеты с улучшенными защитными элементами.

Новые монеты содержат дополнительный защитный элемент – надпись на гурте: «ОН СОМ» и «10 СОМ». Дизайн лицевой и оборотной сторон монет остался прежним. Год выпуска монет — 2009 г. — остался без изменений.

Монеты 10 сомов из никелированной стали никелем, имеют вес 5,40 г, диаметр 24,50 мм.

Национальный банк постоянно отслеживает тенденции развития производства валют — как купюр, так и циркуляционных монет. Новый защитный элемент в 10-тисомовой монете соответствует международным стандартам и применяется на данный момент многими странами.

Ранее выпущенные циркуляционные монеты 10 сомов остаются в обращении и подлежат обязательному приему в качестве платежного средства без каких-либо ограничений.
