Королевский монетный двор Австралии 5 мая 2014 года выпустит в продажу две новые монеты серии «Яркие жуки».

Аверс монет одинаковый: портрет королевы Великобритании Елизаветы II работы Иена Рэнк-Бродли (Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS). Вокруг выгравированы надписи: «ELIZABETH II», название страны и год чеканки монеты «AUSTRALIA 2014».

Монета «Радужный жук-олень»

Реверс одной монеты представляет в цвете редкого и очень красивого Радужного жука-оленя (Phalacrognathus muelleri). На заднем плане изображены два сражающихся жука. Также указан номинал монеты «1 DOLLAR».

Монета «Оса-блестянка»

На реверсе это монеты запечатена оса-блестянка (другие надвания: золотая оса или хризидида). Оса, выполненная в цвете, обладает очень яркой и красивой блестящей окраской: зеленой, синей, фиолетовой. Размер насекомого от 3 до 15 мм. Это или паразитоиды или клептопаразиты, что и отображено на реверсе (как мне кажется, изображены какие-то паразиты). В качестве хозяев Оса-блестянка использует пчел и ос. В верхней части указан номинал «1 DOLLAR».

Монеты по 1 доллару из сплава AlZnBr (UNC) имеют вес 9 г, диаметр 25 мм. Тираж 30 000 шт.

Royal Australian Mint has submitted the next two coins in the Bright Bug Series Rainbow Stag Beetle and Cuckoo Wasp fly.

Rainbow Stag Beetle

The male stag beetle’s impressively-proportioned mandibles are used almost exclusively for battling rivals when preferred mating territories are at stake. Like the deer they are named for, these beetles engage in ferocious-looking contests by locking ‘antlers’.  With the colour print accentuating their radiant colours and each card highlighting fascinating facts about the insect, each coin will make a perfect addition to any collection for the young and young-at-heart. 

Cuckoo Wasp

Among the most resplendent insects to be found in Australia, the iridescent green, blue, and purple Cuckoo Wasp is truly befitting to be included in the Royal Australian Mint’s Bright Bugs Series. Launched in early 2014, the Mint’s Bright Bugs Series features some of the continent’s most maligned and misunderstood; awe-spiring and eye-catching insects. With the colour print accentuating their radiant colours and each card highlighting fascinating facts about the insect, each coin will make a perfect addition to any collection for the young and young-at-heart.

New release product will be shipped from 5 May 2014.

Королевский монетный двор Канады в декабре 2013 года выпустил вторую монет «История северного сияния: Вой волка» с голограммой, имитирующей Северное сияние.

Аверс традиционный: портрет королевы Елизаветы II, окруженный надписями: «ELIZABETH II», «D•G•REGINA».

На реверсе изображен одинокий воющий волк посреди зимнего пейзажа на фоне Североного сияния. Дизайн разработан таким образом, что сияние словно вырывается из волчьей пасти вместе с его воем. Вверху и внизу расположены надписи: название страны-эмитента и год выпуска «CANADA 2014», номинал «20 DOLLARS». Дизайн разработала Nathalie Bertin.

Royal Canadian Mint have created second coin in the A Story of the Northern Lights series of beautiful hologram coins!

Национальный банк Словакии в апреле 2014 года выпустил в обращение памятную биметаллическую монету в честь 10-летней годовщины вступления данной страны в Европейский Союз (это произошло 1 мая 2004 года).

Аверс традиционный для биметаллических монет еврозоны номиналом 2 евро. В центре указан номинал «2 EURO» и 12 звезд Евросоюза.

На реверса изображена композиция из букв «EÚ» (European Union, «Европейский Союз»). Сверху на букве «Ú» выгравирован герб Словацкой Республики. Справа указана дата вступления Словакии в ЕС «1.5.2004» и год чеканки монеты «2014». The National Bank of Slovakia have issued a new commemorative 2 Euro coin which marks a very important moment in the country's history — that of its accession into the European Union on the 1^stMay 2004.

Slovakia, along with eight Central and Eastern European countries including the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Slovenia - all former communist countries as well as three countries who re-established independence from the former USSR, took part in accession ceremonies held at the official residence of the President of Ireland. Along with two countries in the Mediterranean — Cyprus and Malta, this was the largest single enlargement within the European Union in terms of people and number of countries. Slovakia completed their further integration into the European Union with the adoption of both the Schengen agreement - the abolition of border checks at the signatories' common borders and on the 1^st January 2009, adopted the Euro single currency, becoming the only country to do so that year and 16^th member state to do so overall.

The coin is struck by the Kremnica Mint and designed by artist Maria Poldaufová.

The obverse design includes the stylised letters "EÚ" as the abbreviation of the European Union, with the coat of arms of the Slovak Republic incorporated in the foreground. On the right-hand side of the inner part of the coin, in two lines, is the date of the Slovak Republic's accession to the European Union, "1.5.2004" and immediately below it the year "2014". Inscribed along the bottom edge of the inner part is the name of the issuing country, "SLOVENSKO" while in a semi-circle along the upper edge is the inscription "10. VÝROČIE VSTUPU DO EURÓPSKEJ ÚNIE". To the lower left is the mint mark of Kremnica Mint (composed of the letters "MK" between two dies), and to the lower right are the stylized letters "MP", the initials of the designer. The coin's outer ring bears the 12 stars of the European Union.

Орел играет важную роль в многочисленных легендах и культуре американских индейцев. Некоторые индейские племена считают орла воплощением Великого Духа и верят, что хищник доносит их церемониальные молитвы до Создателя.

The Royal Canadian Mint has unveiled the first of seven coins in a new series honoring teachings of the First Nations people of Canada. First coin in your subscription is Love: a powerful image that reveals the subtle shape of a heart formed by the eagle’s wings and tail feathers.

The obverse includes the gold plated image of Queen Elizabeth II, along with the inscriptions ELIZABETH II, 2014, 9999 and FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PURE.

Designed by Métis artist Nathalie Bertin, the reverse of each coin features a gold plated eagle formed in the shape of a heart, symbolizing self-love. A person stands at the center. It is inscribed with the words CANADA and 20 DOLLARS.

Автор книги «A Voyage to Terra Australis» Мэтью Флиндерс (Matthew Flinders; 1774–1814) – известный английский исследователь зеленого континента. Именно он стал первым человеком, систематически использовавшим в своих произведениях название «Австралия». Так, Мэтью Флиндерс дал материку его современное название.

На аверсе отчеканен портрет королевы Великобритании Елизаветы II работы Иена Рэнк-Бродли (Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS) и надписи: «ELIZABETH II», «AUSTRALIA 2014».

На реверсе изображен парусник «Инвестигейтор», из которого исходят лучи, делая парусник центром изображения. На этом паруснике капитан Флиндерс 18 июля 1801 года отправился из Англии исследовать берега Австралии. Рядом с парусником выгравирован контур австралийского материка и номинал «1 DOLLAR». The Royal Australian Mint seeks to introduce a unique, eye-catching, and engaging theme as a figurehead for its gallery press and mintmark collection. 

At a much-anticipated event by coin collectors around the country, the Royal Australian Mint has revealed the new theme for its gallery press which this year is honouring the 200th anniversary of the publication of Matthew Flinders’ journal ‘A Voyage to Terra Australis.’

The historic theme of Australian exploration was unveiled to the eager queue that have waited for days and nights outside the Mint’s building for the opportunity to be one of the first 100 in the world to strike a coin in 2014.

“This special new year event is one that is marked on many of our coin collectors’ calendars as it is a rare opportunity to be, what is possibly, the first person in the world to make a coin in 2014,” said Royal Australian Mint CEO Mr Ross MacDiarmid.

The coin design that the dedicated collectors struck today features an intricate $1 uncirculated coin with an artistic impression of Australia and a stylised tall ship in full sail within a compass rose, marking the 200th anniversary of Matthew Flinders’ journal ‘A Voyage to Terra Australis.’

Matthew Flinders was a remarkable sailor, captain and explorer, his journal recounts a time when Australia was a vast unknown land for European settlers. The journal includes tales of Flinders’ expeditions aboard HMAS Investigator and other vessels, including the first circumnavigation of the Australian continent.

The coin will feature in the Mint’s gallery press for the entire year and all bear a ‘C’ for Canberra mark, making these coins a memento to keep forever, and one that will also be sought after by many collectors.

In 2014, we have selected the 1814 publication of Matthew Flinders’ historic journal, A Voyage to Terra Australis, as the inspiration for its latest releases. Through his journal, Flinders recounted his many journeys aboard the HMS Investigator and other vessels – including the first ever successful circumnavigation of the continent of Australia.
