Монетный двор Австралии г. Перт совместно с Монетным двором Новой Зеландии и компанией ВВС в апреле 2014 года представили третью монету «Киберлюди» серии «Монстры «Доктора Кто».
Киберлюди (англ.Cybermen) — выдуманная раса из фантастического сериала «Доктор Кто». Представляют собой людей, заключивших свой мозг и остальную центральную нервную систему в техногенный корпус. Изредка появляются на протяжении старого сериала и довольно часто в новых сериях. В последних сериях приходят из параллельного мира. Киберлюди вселенной Доктора были расой искусственно измененных «почти людей», которых породили на планете Мондас — планете-близнеце Земли.
На аверсе по традиции отчеканен портрет королевы Великобритании Елизаветы II работы Иена Рэнк-Бродли (Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS). Вокруг выгравированы надписи: «ELIZABETH II», «NIUE», «ONE DOLLAR», «2014».

In collaboration, BBC Worldwide Australia and New Zealand and New Zealand Mint offer this collectable 1/2oz silver proof coin to continue Doctor Who’s 50th anniversary celebrations. This release is the third issue from the Perth Mint of Australia’s Doctor Who Monsters series.
Colored reverse designs in the series showcase some of the most memorable foes encountered in the Doctor Who television program. This specific coin features a Cyberman design.
"The cold and calculating Cybermen first appear in the cult series in 1966, and eventually became a race of conquerors who reproduced by taking other organic beings and forcibly changing them into Cybermen," describes the Perth Mint on its website.
Shown on the coin’s reverse is a fictional Cyberman. A colored background adds to the contrast of the design along with a finely struck border. DOCTOR WHO is inscribed below.
As legal tender of Niue, obverses bear the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Obverse inscriptions include ELIZABETH II, NUE, ONE DOLLAR, 2014 and IRB for the artist’s initials.

Kairuku grebneffi (лат.) — ископаемый вид птиц, останки которого были найдены в Новой Зеландии (Kokoamu Greensand). Самый большой ископаемый пингвин достигал в высоту 1,3 метра, вес — до 60 кг. With the continued interest in prehistoric life on coins, it falls to the New Zealand Post to find a subject yet to grace a numismatic, a giant penguin. With bones first collected in 1977 by Dr. Ewan Fordyce, a paleontologist from the University of Otago, New Zealand, it wasn’t until 2011 that a reconstruction was undertaken and details about the animal more forthcoming.
The penguin was dubbed ‘Kairuku’, a Maori word that loosely translates to “diver who returns with food” and its body shape is different from any previously known penguin, living or extinct. Dated to the Oligocene approximately 25 MYA when New Zealand was mostly underwater, the isolated rocky outcrops that made up the country at the time were perfect breeding and fishing grounds for the penguins.
One of at least five species of penguin attributed to the region at that time, it stood around 1.3m (54″) tall with a slender body and long flippers, but short, thick legs and feet.
This 1oz silver proof coin highlights the uniqueness of this extinct species. The design features an artistic depiction of the Kairuku next to a height chart, emphasising its tall stature compared with its modern-day counterparts, alongside an image of the Kairuku swimming. The rim of the coin features the Māori name, alongside the English translation: ‘diver who returns with food’.

With a mintage of just 1,500 coins worldwide, it will likely sell out quite quickly and can be pre-ordered now for delivery at the end of May.
